What is a Redirect?

A redirect is the process by which both visitors and search engines are redirected to a different URL than the one requested.

Simply put, a redirect is a line of code that directs the user to a different URL than the one intended by the browser. 

To serve the same purpose, the new URL should contain equivalent information as the original URL.

There are 6 types of redirection that are: 

301 Redirects 302 Redirects 303 Redirects 307 Redirects Meta Redirects JavaScript Redirects
