5 Mozilla Acquires The Team Behind Pulse

Firefox developer Mozilla has rarely ventured into the world of mergers and acquisitions.

It recently shut down California productivity startup Pulse, on the news of its acquisition.

“We’re acquiring Pulse for the incredible team they have built,”

Mozilla chief product officer Steve Teixeira told TechCrunch.

Pulse was essentially an automated status update tool that used

out-of-the-box integrations and signals based on user-specified preferences.

Users can sync Pulse to their calendars and Slack and set rules to determine which statuses and

corresponding emojis should have based on keywords in calendar event titles.
